Background
- Also known as Rohypnol
- Used in Europe and Asia for Insomnia and Pre-op sedation
- Used in US as "date-rape" agent
- An intermediate acting benzodiazepine
- Has strong affinity for benzodiazepine receptor
Clinical Features
- CNS depression within 30 minutes
- Patients can usually be aroused with noxious stimuli
- Half life 16-35 hours but coma can last 48h

- Chloral hydrate
- Gamma hydroxybutyrate (GHB)
