History

The Emergency Medicine residency program has maintained Continued Full Accreditation by the ACGME as well as the Resident Review Committee (RRC) since 1981.

Their program proudly serves as a center of excellence in Emergency Medicine in the Commonwealth of Virginia providing leadership in clinical, academic and prehospital services. They are a not-for-profit physician group supporting EVMS with more than 150 physicians at over 20 locations.

Their mission is to provide patient-centered, quality health care to the patients we serve. To that end, they strive to deliver care that is safe, efficient, cost-effective and timely. And EVMS physicians are delivering this type of care more than 410,000 times a year.
